Senior AI & Data Engineer

As Senior AI & Data Engineer, you will join DecisiveAI's product team and report directly to Ms. Ghita Mezzour, founder of DecisiveAI and former Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform (2021-2024).
You take charge of complete components of our products, from technical design to running them in production:
- Design and build data pipelines: ingestion, processing and indexing of documents and business data
- Develop AI features in production: retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, information extraction from documents, agents
- Measure the quality of AI systems: test sets, evaluation metrics and performance monitoring in production
- Develop the APIs and backend services that expose these features
- Deploy and run our products in the cloud: containerization, CI/CD, monitoring and security
- Take part in architecture decisions and review the team's code
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers: day-to-day support, sharing best practices and tracking their progress
What we're looking for
Required:
- At least 4 years of professional experience in data engineering, AI engineering or backend development
- Proven experience with production systems: you have designed, shipped and maintained over time applications used daily by real users, beyond the prototype or proof-of-concept stage
- Have already built and deployed data and/or AI products in production
- Strong command of Python, with experience of FastAPI, Flask or Django
- Strong command of SQL and relational databases, for example PostgreSQL
- Experience integrating LLMs into applications: RAG, embeddings, vector databases and evaluating the results
- Solid cloud experience: GCP, AWS or Azure
- Proficiency with Docker, Git and CI/CD practices
- Strong system design skills, and the ability to explain your technical choices clearly
- Organization and autonomy: you set priorities, document your work clearly and flag risks early
Nice to have:
- Experience with GCP
- Experience supervising or mentoring engineers
- Experience with a data pipeline orchestrator, for example Airflow or Dagster
- Experience with document processing: OCR, text and table extraction, documents in Arabic
- Experience in frontend development, for example React or Next.js
- Experience working with clients: taking part in user interviews, translating business needs into technical requirements and presenting your work
Bonus:
Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit: you know how to communicate with clients, users and colleagues, present technical topics simply, and share your ideas and knowledge with the team
Ideal profile: a data engineer or backend engineer who has already shipped AI features to production, and who cares as much about data quality as about code quality.

This role is 100% on-site at our Casablanca offices. We made this choice because we build our products through close, day-to-day collaboration: we discuss problems together, review each other's work in person and make decisions quickly as a team.
